At an early age, Shani Rigsbee showed an active interest in music. Her parents were musically inclined and nurtured their daughter's interest in the arts by moving to Los Angeles to allow Shani to pursue a career in music. While there, she studied music and theater, and soon found herself traveling the world to experience new forms of music, from rhythms to melodies of different cultures. Her international influence can be identified in her unique sound. As a young woman, she battled ovarian cancer, but overcame the disease, and discovered a spiritual side to herself during the process. The experience allowed her to further grow as an artist, and to develop her style into a more mature yet youthful sound.
That unique sound has achieved major success both in North America and internationally; Rigsbee has produced several albums, as well as many tracks on notable movie scores. Shani's first musical release in 1996 was a track featured in the movie Crosswolds, where her style perfectly matched the science fiction flick. Two years later, she performed "Somia Memories" for the Square RPG Parasite Eve, which to date remains one of her most celebrated tracks. In 1999, Shani released her debut album Undercurrent, which showcased her unique style and gained her some immediate success. Her follow up album Call of the Wild in 2001 was a big success. In 2003, she would provide tracks for two movies, Irangles and House of Sand and Fog.
2004 showcased Shani's third album release, Velvet, as well as a track called "El llamar de pasion" in the blockbuster Crash. Her fourth studio album, At the Casbah, was released in 2005, and in the same year she was featured in the film The Keeper - The Legend of Omar Khayyam. However, 2006 would prove to be an equally busy year, where Shani would contribute tracks to three films, G.I. Jesus, National Lampoon's Pledge This, and the Elvis tribute movie One Night With the King. After a decade of success, can Shani keep up with what the industry will demand of her, and if so, what will her next big project be?
