Brief Profile

Masafumi Takada is a video game composer famous for his highly stylised soundtracks on Grasshopper Manufacture. After extensive musical training, Takada became a composer at Human Entertainment at the start of the PlayStation era. He quickly demonstrated his musical diversity and thematic capacity with scores for 2Tax Gold, Air Boarder 64, Moonlight Syndrome, and Neko Zamurai.

After Human Entertainment disbanded, Masafumi Takada joined director Goichi Suda to form Grasshopper Manufacture. He immediately raised the bar with works on The Silver Case, Shining Soul II, and Michigan before coming to widespread attention with his diverse and individualistic soundtracks to God Hand, killer7, and Samurai Champloo.

Away from Grasshopper, Takada has contributed to a range of other companies, including Sandlot, Nudemaker, Clover Studio, and Konami's Bemani division. Following attention-grabbing works on No More Heroes, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Takada has formed his own studio and looks set to make an even bigger impact around the world.
