Street Fighter Series :: DiscographyDue to the sheer number of Final Fantasy albums, we have separated their albums by mini-series on this page. We provide descriptions of each mini-series for guidance since Street Fighter's discography is somewhat confusing. Street Fighter II | Super Street Fighter II | Street Fighter III | Street Fighter IV Street Fighter II [Top]Created in 1991, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior was a hugely popular Arcade 'versus fighting' game from Capcom. The game's music, scored by Yoko Shimomura and Isao Abe, was noted for its character themes that since appeared in numerous soundtracks and arranged albums related to the franchise.
Super Street Fighter II [Top]1994's Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers was an enhanced version of Street Fighter II. The music from the initial game was carried over, but Isao Abe and Syun Nishigaki created some new compositions, notably for the four new characters. They have featured in various albums.
Street Fighter III [Top]Street Fighter III was a largely unsuccessful three-part sequel to Street Fighter II that started in 1997. Scored principally by Hideki Okugawa, it was a significant musical departure from the series, featuring a lot of electronica and hip-hop. Street Fighter IV Series [Top]Street Fighter IV is a new game for the Arcade, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 that has currently only been released in Japan. It features characters from Street Fighter II and new characters. It composer is Hideyuki Fukasawa.
Street Fighter Alpha / Zero Series [Top]The Street Fighter Alpha series (known as Street Fighter Zero in Japan) encompassed three prequels to Street Fighter II created from 1995 onwards. For the first two games, the musical styles remained similar to Street Fighter II and several familiar themes were carried over, but the third game departed from this.
Street Fighter EX Series [Top]The Street Fighter EX series was developed by Arika under license from Capcom as a 3D spinoff series. The games were scored by Arika's in-house composers Shinji Hosoe, Ayako Saso, Takayuki Aihara, and Yasuhisa Watanabe.
Capcom VS Series [Top]The Capcom VS series encompassed several Arcade games featuring Street Fighter and other Capcom characters fighting against Marvel Comics and SNK characters. In some games, reprises of compositions from the Street Fighter series featured.
Final Fight Series [Top]Final Fight itself was originally titled Street Fighter '89, but became the first instalment of a new franchise set in the Street Fighter universe. Final Fight series characters have since appeared in the Street Fighter Alpha and Capcom VS series.
