Brief Profile

Born in Saitama in the early 1980s, Azusa Chiba is a new recruit at Hitoshi Sakimoto's game music production company Basiscape. After learning the piano from the age of four, she suddenly decided to persue a musical career and joined a music school. After graduation, she worked on doujin and hentai PC games, a drama CD, and as a desktop music instructor.

Looking for a more substantial career, Chiba joined Basiscape in the second half of 2007 with Yoshimi Kudo. Her initial project was porting compositions from After Burner II to the i-mode Mobile Phone with Kimihiro Abe; five of these contributions were featured in the After Burner 20th Anniversary Box released shortly afterwards. In December 2007, she was honoured to arrange Darius II's "Planet Blue" for Darius Remix in an abstract funk remix focused on the bass guitar.

In 2008, Chiba participated in her first game project with the visual novel game L no Kisetsu 2: Invisible Memories. Here she crafted four violin-led compositions with a romantic tone. She also worked on the fighting game BLEACH Heat the Soul 5 adapting to the established oriental rock styles of the series. There are no other works involving her known, but she is anticipated to generate a large resume quickly given Basiscape's numerous game projects in 2008.
