Biography

I was born in Indiana, where I lived the first 10 years of my life. Where I lived, gaming was near my only source of entertainment. I first really 'noticed' video game music while playing Super Mario RPG. I found myself constantly humming the "Happy Kingdom" theme, and soon became hooked. As I played more and more games, I began to listen to the music as well, instead of taking it for granted and focusing on the gameplay only.

When I moved to Alabama, our family purchased cable internet. I listened to a million midis of various games I knew, mostly Nintendo. My first run in with the Final Fantasy series was Final Fantasy X when I was in 8th grade; since then I've played several games from the series. Final Fantasy VIII's "Liberi Fatali" got me truly hooked on video game music, and since then I've kept an open ear to the various sounds of gaming and how they've evolved from the beeps and blips of the NES days.

My primary focus in life is definitely in music. I've been in band playing the saxophone for six years now. Throughout those six years, I played soprano, alto, tenor, and bari sax in various ensembles. I gained a huge appreciation for various instruments, and am now driven to learn as many as I can. I played trumpet briefly in 6th grade, and I wish to pick it up again. Currently I play snare drum in marching band, alto sax in jazz band, and the French horn in concert band. I also auditioned and gained a spot in my school's chamber chorus. I hope to continue my studies of music throughout college, and eventually teach music, hoping to instill in the upcoming generation a love for music of all types.
