Biography

As one of the older members of the site, I've probably had an interest in video games and music from video games since the earliest systems. Back then, I'd hook up a tape recorder to the line-out of the VCR and made my own 'soundtracks'. I'd listen to these soundtracks until the tape finally wore out from overuse.

I've been an addict of the music ever since. I blame the catchiness of the melodies that Koji Kondo crafted for the earliest Nintendo games, but also Koichi Sugiyama and Nobuo Uematsu to a greater extent once I discovered the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest world. These days I follow the Western game music scene closely too.

As to why I ended up here on Square Enix Music Online, well it's a long story. At one point while searching for new game music online I stumbled upon a site called Gamingforce. After some months there, I wandered into the section where people crafted arrangements of game soundtracks.

I was eventually lured onto SquareSound. When the split occured, Chris sent me a PM telling me to come over to this site. I've been here ever since. And perhaps the site hasn't been the same since that time.

Site Role

I started contributed to the site as a reviewer and forum moderator. After Chris was let down by the previous person responsible for the technical management of the site, I stepped in a few weeks before its release to make it fully functional and easier to update than its predecessor. I have big plans on how to make the site even more efficient technically and better integrated with the forum in the future.
